Sweet Hadley turned one and her birthday party was this past Saturday. She has gotten so big and is such a smiley little thing! :) Despite the chill, the day was pretty enough for us to grab a few shots outside, then back into the house for the rest of our shoot and all of her cute clothes! I've so enjoyed watching Hadley and brother Max grow!! I'm really going to miss this sweet family!

G Family - thanks so much for letting me invade your lives for the past 2 and 1/2 years! You have the cutest sweetest kiddos! I've been so blessed to get to take their pictures!

Baby Malachi On the Way!

I met Aimee in Bald Knob last Saturday for her maternity shoots. It was chilly and windy, but she was certainly a trooper for me! My parents attend the same church as Aimee and her family, and my mom has been keeping me updated on Aimee's story here and there. Saturday, I asked if I could share a little of her story, and she gave me permission to share.

Aimee has what is called a Molar Pregnancy with Coexisting Fetus. If you are like me, you have never heard of that before now. I really don't know a lot about it other than what I have heard from my mom about Aimee and baby Malachi. I know that baby and mom are both doing as well as possible right now, but there are several risks that her doctors are watching very closely. From what I understand right now, the baby's health is far better than the doctors were expecting at this point.

What I DO know for sure is that God is good. He is still on His throne. He knew this was going to happen long before it did. He formed Malachi in Aimee's womb, and He has a wonderful plan for that child's life. He is holding Malachi, Aimee, her husband Chris, and their 3 girls in the palm of His hand. And He is going to carry them all through every step of this!!

Please say a prayer for this family. Right now. As you read this blog post, take time to whisper their names and lift them up the God of all healing. Thank you, and enjoy some of my favorites from this session!

Maddox: Newborn

The FOUR Brumleys!!!

Oh how this post makes my heart happy!!! On April 13, 2009, Paige commented on one of my posts. "...I need to send you pictures of my baby blocks I made for the baby room. Still no baby to fill it...slowly but surely God will provide!" And provide He did!! This past Monday, the Brumleys went from a family of 2 to a family of 4!! Tyler and Kaylee are now official, although, when I took these pictures a few weeks ago, they seemed pretty settled into their new family quite nicely. :) Paige and Brandon have been through a lot over the past few years. You can read a little about their story on Pagie's blog: www.bpbrumley.blogspot.com.

This past week, their prayers were answered in the affirmative with the addition of these 2 precious faces. Our God doesn't always work like we think He should. Our God doesn't always work on the same time table we do. But trust this - our God ALWAYS works for his glory and our good. And though I don't know why he chose to let Paige and Brandon travel down this road, I do know that He was on His throne the whole time. He was watching and listening the whole time. And while the road wasn't always happy or pretty or nice, it led them to these two sweet babies for them to love, take care of, and raise to know and love Him.

Congrats, P!!! I know we don't see each other often, but I still think about dorm life, often, and remember all the crazy fun times we had!! I couldn't be happier for you right now. Love you tons!!!!! L

Cade: 2 years

Cade was a little unsure of me when I showed up to get some 2 year shots of him. He climbed on a rock and jumped off a few times.....all while keeping a close eye on me. :) After a few minutes, he warmed up some and offered up some smiles. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Normally the happy kiddo, Noah was not ready for a photo shoot yesterday afternoon. Sweet boy is teething, getting over sickness, and had just woken up. So, our first few pics looked like this. Yesterday after the rain, but during the wind, we shot Brooke's bridals. If you have never been to the beautiful Alda's Magnolia Hill, you need to go! It is amazing, and right in the middle of Little Rock!! Brooke is getting married there in March, so we shot her bridals on the grounds. BIG thanks to Alda and Buddy for being so accommodating to this demanding photog. ;) Brooke was a trooper too! She put up with chilly temps, crazy wind, and me driving a golf cart! I must confess......the 3 month shoot of the Baby's First Year package is usually something I really don't look forward to. Not that I don't love the sweet little babies and families I shoot! It's just that the 3 month age is so hard to shoot. They are too little to sit up or really hold their head up much but they are past that little sleepy baby age where you can sort of mush them where you want them. They are just the most difficult out of the 5 sessions. BUT - Hallee. Totally. Rocked it! She did great without so much as the hint of a tear. And we got some great shots too!! :) She is SUCH a cutie!!! Love her! Enjoy the sneak peek!

A few things I'm reminded of when I shoot seniors: 1. I'm not nearly as cool as I think I am 2. I'm not as young as I feel like I am 3. Shooting seniors is one of my favorite things. EVER!

After a little rain scare, the sun came out, and it turned out to be a beautiful day! Brittany is super fun. And she brought along her best friend Rachel who is also super fun! So, there was no way this shoot was going to be dull! As you will see, I had a really hard time narrowing down my favorites.

I'm sure I've mentioned before that I have a heart for adoption. Domestic, foreign - all kinds! I think it's great, and I love when people do it. If anything is an earthly picture of God's love for us, adoption is! This family got to meet their sweet new addition earlier this year, and a few weeks later, they got to bring her home. They were several months ahead of my sister's family - The Andersons - in their adoption process, so hanging out with this sweet family made me all the more ready for little Nora to come home!

And I'm back! Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. Summer time is a little slow for me. And I took a little break. Truth is, I don't love blogging. :) I mean I love connecting with you. And I love giving my clients a fun sneak peek. But the actual mechanics of blogging - hate it. It's not super user friendly. So, I enjoyed not having to do it for a bit. I also traveled a little to visit some friends whom I haven't seen in ages! It was fun times, and nice to get to visit.
But I'm back now. And gearing up for B.U.S.Y. season!!!

I have been friends with Ava's parents for a few years now. You may remember them from this post. HOT! It's so hot!! I normally don't shoot much this time of year, but my 1 year package babies are on a time line! :) Poor sweet Hadley and her poor sweet family braved the high Arkansas humidity with me on Saturday morning for her "6 month" shots. (Due to scheduling conflicts, we shot her a couple weeks early.) She was a trooper and we got lots of cute ones. These kiddos are always dressed adorably, so that makes my job all the more easy! :) Enjoy this cuteness!!

I know I've said it before, but I have such a soft spot for shooting sisters. I know any sibling relationship can have its own special thing, but there's just something about 2 sisters - they can hate each others guts one minute and jump to the others defense the next. Sometimes worst enemies, sometimes best friends, but first and foremost - sisters. I can't explain it. You just have to be a sister and have a sister to get it.

That leads me to these two - still so young, but I know they will have that sister thing! :) These two were so much fun! It didn't take Bennett Grace too long to warm up to me, and once she did, she was hammin' it up! Ella Hays wasn't sure what to think, but we got lots of sweet shots of her too! Here are some of my favorites!!

Like I said on Facebook, the only thing that can get me excited about going out in the Arkansas heat is a shoot. Add this yummy light, and I was giddy! :) You may remember this couple from last spring when they bought an adoption deal package. Sweet Quinn was born this past Wednesday, and I was so excited to get to take her newborn pictures. She is so cute!! Don't you love all that hair?! :) She was awake some. Alseep some. Unhappy some. :) But all in all, we got a lot of great shots. Hopefully she'll sleep good tonight. Enjoy!!

I got to shoot 4 day old Alex today. He was great!!! We squished, moved, rolled, and wallowed him like crazy.....and he never made a peep! I love shooting in gorgeous weather with no humidity!! I also love shooting super fun families like this one!! We hiked all over the place - not one of us falling down - and got a lot of great shots!! Isn't this covered bridge the best? I have shot here once before, and I tend to forget about it. She is a cutie, super smiley, and apparently has never met a stranger. :) They are about to move, and wanted some "Conway shots" so we started down town and ended up at UCA campus. Yesterday afternoon I headed into the hills of White County to shoot my aunt, uncle and cousin. They have got a lovely home, and I LOVE this little patio/arbor/gate area they have. It was super hot, so we hurried, but still got several fun shots. Here are a few of my faves from the day. The dog and cat did wonderfully. He was born in the wee hours on Saturday morning, and his first night home was spent in a closet taking shelter from severe weather. :) He did really well for me during his first photo shoot, and we got lots of really great shots. OK, so this is a little painful to type......I used to babysit Emily. There....I said it. I'm old. ;)

I was so super excited when this sweet girl asked me to shoot her senior pictures. My family has been friends with her family for years, and we are all just basically just extended family. LOVE her! And her parents. And her brother and sister!!! :) Anyway, we had lots of fun shooting on a very humid day! We got lots of great shots and also got to catch up!

Emily, even though it makes me feel ridiculously old, Congrats on the upcoming graduation!! I wish you the best at DBU, and look forward to hearing amazing things about you from your mom. ;) I love you tons, and I'm so thankful to have gotten to take your pictures!!! Love so much, ZZ

Hello all! I won't type long because it's hard for me to see, but I have some news.

I was recently diagnosed with "Pituitary Adenoma." It's a benign tumor on my pituitary gland. It is fairly large and is pressing on some nerves in my brain - the part of my brain that controls parts of my vision. I currently have no peripheral vision, and everything else is really blurry.

I met with a surgeon yesterday, and surgery is scheduled for March 16th. I will stay in the hospital for a few days, and then recovery will take 2-3 weeks, minimum.

So, at this very moment, I am not currently booking any shoots. I hate this because this is one of the best times of year to shoot!! I'm so sorry!!! But I know everyone will understand because I do have the most amazing clients....EVER!!!

If we currently have something on the calendar, you will be getting an e-mail from me with some options. We will figure something out for sure.

My prayer is for a speedy recovery, so I can get back to doing what I love!! I will keep you all posted as to when I will start booking again!

Saturday morning, I got to shoot 2 of the cutest babies! Titus was the first, and Bellamy was the other one. I lover her cheeks! Bellamy is the daughter of Bryce & Autumn - you may remember them from this post. She was a touch crowd, and I was sure working hard to get a smile.
